This is a well made tray. I use it to display some items in my front room – it really adds to the look. I could see it working well in a bathroom for hand soap etc. It’s heavier than I anticipated, which is not a bad thing.

I ordered this Preston Lane Signature ceramic tray because of its simple design and muted color scheme, and it did not disappoint. The ceramic is smooth, and the paint appears neatly applied.The tray measures 12.3″ × 6″ × 1.3″, which is a perfect size for multiple uses. I can imagine serving appetizers or a scattering of candies in it. More informally, it could corral a pile of Cuties on the counter, or sit on a dresser holding a wallet and other pocket items. It would even work well as a saucer for a couple of small plant pots.At nearly $50, it feels a bit expensive, but it’s a well-made, elegant piece that should suit many settings.

Looks Nice From a Distance
This Preston Lane ceramic tray had potential, but the one I received looked like someone on the handmade team forgot to finish one side. It’s hard to ignore once you see it, even though I have only one side on display at home. The fluted edges and hand painted trim are pretty on the good side, but the unfinished area makes the whole piece feel inconsistent and rushed. For the price, I expected something that looked complete and polished, not something I’d need to hide. The size is fine and the color is nice, but the overall value just isn’t there after seeing the final product in person. I wouldn’t recommend it especially at this price.

BrandingI’ve never heard of Preston Lane, so after doing a little research, I found that Preston Lane is a company founded during the pandemic, and is stocked at Nordstrom, in the form of soaps and lotions. They just launched an exclusive line on Amazon, which apparently is supposed to be elevated but not out-of-reach.PricingI’m not sure how I feel about a tray being that expensive, but it looks like it could have been mass-produced.QualityNow if we ignore the price, and just talk about the product, then yes, this tray is stylish and well-made. The fluting details and cream glazing are pretty cleanly done (with one little imperfection in the glazing on the inside). The black painted edge is also very cleanly done. If this were 100% handmade, it would be impressive, but it does look machine made… it’s probably more likely that it’s machine-assisted made by skilled artisans, and not mass-produced. That’s my guess.I personally would only buy this at more than half off. That is my honest opinion.

Subtle and classy
Wow, a quality vanity tray that feels and looks designer without being over the top. I like the minimal design of this tray. The tray has subtle fluting on the sides and an off white band on the top. It is glazed with a dry base underneath.It’s solid and heavy with nice weight to it. It’s not going to slide around on your countertop. I’m using it to contain hand soap, room spray and my general all-purpose cleaner.I hope they come out with other accessories as this is one of those products you didn’t know you needed until you had one.
