Perfect for the aesthetically inclined–and those who just want to play with the beads
These look very good as a centerpiece and were so fun to put together! Because of the beads, it is not a good last-minute project, so I would work on it the day BEFORE your dinner party, not the day of.Sleek and modern-looking, the different sizes of these containers add visual interest. There are three gold-beaded ropes that come twist-tied together. The twist-tie is also gold and can be semi-difficult to locate, but the gold ropes come apart much easier when they aren’t bound together. I put two ropes in the biggest glass and one in the second-smallest.This is not an immediate-assembly product because it takes time (around eight hours) for the water beads to fully expand. They are very fun to play with, and boy, do they EXPAND! The directions suggest a 1:1 ratio, and I would recommend following those directions better than I did. I was far too impatient and eyeballed it instead of filling it spoonful by spoonful, drinking glass by drinking glass. It still worked the way I did it, but it got a bit messy. There are plenty of beads left over, so once I’m done I can throw away the current beads instead of drying them out to reuse them. (I probably won’t throw them out, but it’s nice to know that I COULD if I wanted to.)***Recommended strategy for disposing of beads: do NOT dump them down the drain! Instead, strain them in a colander and throw the beads in the trash.***It was difficult to disperse the beaded ropes evenly through the water beads. I didn’t get it perfect, but I think it is still pretty even though I failed. Six floating candles are included. It is difficult to center them in the larger containers, but I got it to work. They fit just perfectly in the smallest container (see third picture) and are so cute!When not being used as super fun floating candle holders, they could be used as flower vases. The containers are a relatively thin glass, so it would be best to shy away from putting anything heavy in them.

Decent vases, love the candles & water beads!
These arrived VERY well packaged – and I’m keeping some of the packing to use when storing them! The glass cylinders were all clear and well made. The little assorted gold beads came on 2 strings that you can cut to length and float in the hydrated water beads if you want. The candles have a pretty decent burn time, too.I haven’t seen anything definitive telling how much water to what measurement of water beads makes a certain measurement of hydrated beads. I did test them by using 1/4 teaspoon of beads in a half cup of water. It took a number of hours for them to fully hydrate, which is well worth it – just plan on doing it hours ahead of when you need them. Fully hydrated, that 1/4 teaspoon measured a bit above a half cup, once some extra water was drained off. I first saw these on Christmas Eve, and the hostess didn’t know the ratio either, and had both candles and beads overflowing and spilling out onto her tables. But they were so beautiful, I just had to get some after that. She was actually using these same vases.If I had one suggestion, it would be to include EIGHT candles instead of six so all 4 vases could be used with them twice.

Beautiful and Versatile!
I am VERY impressed by this set of candle vases. I had originally requested them to do the floating oil candles, but this set intrigued me and had me expand my “knowledge” of water candles. The vases are made of borosilicate glass and are well made. I am very impressed with the quality. I also love the clear color, as I can create candles to match whatever decor I desire. These are very versatile, have many uses, and is a decent value. It comes with water beads, a string of pearls and candles. Now I wish I had gotten the bigger size to create more centerpieces for different rooms. One word of caution: us a very small amount of beads to water – for these less is more. They take a few hours to expand, but boy they expand! Also, keep away from animals. Outside of the warning, the candles are a breeze to use and are absolutely gorgeous!!!!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
