This set of 2 votive candles have an automatic timer with a 5 Hours On/19 Hours Off cycle. They can be operated with a remote (remote ready), which is sold separately. They also can be turned on and off using the switch on the bottom of each candle.
The LED Real Flame Effect of these votives lets you use them in places where real live flame candles are not recommended. Set near or drape with light gauzy fabric to create a romantic or spooky atmosphere. Tuck them into Christmas greenery, both real and artificial. Stick in a carved pumpkin without worrying about leaving them unattended. These short candles are not designed to be waterproof, so it is advised to bring them in out of the rain, or keep away from floating displays.
Each candle uses 2 AA batteries (not included), which will give you 200 hours total runtime before needing to be replaced. When used with the automatic timer, you’ll only have to replace the batteries a few times during the whole holiday season, from Halloween to New Year’s. That makes these votive candles a beautiful decorating choice that is easy on the wallet for long-term use.
Each little candle measures 1.5″ in diameter, and 4″ high each. That’s just enough to give you lots of lovely illumination without requiring a huge amount of space.

This candle looks like an actual flame in the clear, hammered glass candleholder I use. It also emits roughly the same light as an actual votive candle, making it great for ambient lighting. Nitpicking, it dances too much compared to an actual flickering flame, falling just short of perfection. Otherwise, beautiful and worth every penny.

Timer does not last
I have always used Luminara candles. The timer on these candles ceased working after about 2 weeks! Very very disappointing!!!Rating is a zero!!

Was HOPING that these would last longer than the Luminara tea lights, since the battery is AAA and not the Cell battery. Well it DOESN’T. On the Timer setting of 5 hours…these just last 2 weeks or less. The Tea Lights last about 3 weeks or less. Oh Well. Love the way they look

I prefer the ‘dancing’, flickering candles as they seem more real rather than just the steady ‘flame’ flickering candles. The Luminara candles may be a bit more pricey, but they look sooooo much nicer and adds to the ambiance of your room setting …not to mention being safer over using real candles. Another good use is when the power goes out, these candles can be used for light in all rooms.
