I had been considering purchasing this calcite lamp for several months after missing the ambiance of a similarly shaped Himalayan salt lamp with dimmer light that but the dust in a less than comforting fashion a couple years ago (think blackening bulb, electrical melt smell, and all the things that make youCringe when buying novelty type lamps).NeedlessTo say I was hesitant to make a purchase of a similar item unless the price and added quality and craftsmanship would provide the kind of boost in comfort around the productLongevity and safety, as well as the kind of ambiance that affords me flexibility in how I use this lamp -Ie the brightness is sufficient to provide some lighting if needed, but with enough dimmer control to really capture whatever kind of ambiance you’re looking for depending on the surrounding visibility and desired reflection on nearby surfaces.This lamp delivers on all fronts. Ordered the natural white with a bit of reserveDue to someComments about disappointing pure white color patterns – I do not concur and think the light is equally elegant both lit and unlit -And has enough variability in intonation and varied translucency throughout to not takeaway from the very obvious natural materialIt is made from.While this isn’t the lamp for you if you’re looking for a true warmth in tone while unlit (if you’re thinking you want a warm warm white / biscuit color when UnLIT-The natural white isn’t the color for you). If youWant variation in stone translucency,With softer warm white tones mixed with mild translucency and opaque white and very slightly off white tones – with a warm white to white-yellow (more yellow as brightness increases), you will love this piece.Keep in mind the natural look of the stone in my salt lamp was a key reason I loved it – and it was a light light amber w some light rose undertones.Neeedless to say – you will love it and you don’t need to worry that the stone variations will disappoint or take away from authenticity.Brightness ranges with dimmer and the range is ample to dim for bedtime unwinding without screens and truly to slow your brain down for bedOr bright enough to read by if it’s at your bedside.Wiring mechanism is attached to hexagonal steel plate on the exterior of the underside of the base and is attached with multi point support features to keep the cord stable around the base and with enough rotation and adjustability features that seem that it would keep from premature wear on theWired connection to the base that may otherwise be more prevalent without the thoughtful attachment and placement and adjustment options for wiring.Cord is amply long and can easily reach a bedside table within severalFeet of a bedside while still having comfortable Amt of slack.White cord and white dimmer reel on cord blend in nicely with the coloration of the unit overall.Couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Waited until discounted to ~$130usd from ~179$ and would say I am extremely pleased with the 130’price pt and feel it is very fair and on par with the quality of the item received.liked it so much I got a second for the guest bedroom.Pics 1-3 are for 1 unit, 4-6 are of the second one (and admittedly taken with less focus and poorer quality images).Hope this helps! Please be mindfulOf the low max wattage and voltage warning on the bulb surround. Bulb is included with purchase and the base has ample information to reorder the proper v/ wattage -But noting as this is important to prevent fire and overheating.I’ve seen some put colored hue bulbsIn and I’m not sure if those meet the criteria called for in terms of bulb safety – so would check on that before buying if you ar w looking for coloredLight options.

BEAUTIFUL
This is my second lamp of this kind. I was concerned it would not match my first lamp but it did and it’s perfect. I practice Feng Shui and wanted matching lamps/lights on each side of my bed. Oh how beautiful my room looks. The dimming performance is great. Great lamp for the HIGH price. If you want quality this is HIGH QUALITY!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LAMP.. GO FOR SPECTACULAR THIS IS IT. AWESOME SERVICE.

Beware of Color Choice
I have given this a 3 star because of the photo shown on Amazon not for the quality. I assume the photo was provided by the manufacturer and therefore not the fault of Amazon.The photo shown on Amazon appears to be somewhat amber colored. The description reads Pentagon White which is what I ordered and received. The second and third photo show its color from a high to medium setting. The fourth photo is at a low setting and appears similar to the photo on Amazon but it isn’t. The fifth photo is zoomed in to see that it is still very white.My takeaway is that the photo shown is for the Natural Colors one. If you tap on the description Natural white (which appears very white) an amber colored stone appears. If you tap on the Natural Colors, it shows a different stone with marble like markings.All this being said, it’s very heavy, well made and beautiful but not what I was expecting. I have ordered amber colored lights to replace the one provided to see if it makes a difference. If not, sadly, I will return it as I was hoping for a very warm amber colored light.

It’s very heavy! I got this when it was on sale for 50% less. I’m glad that it is dimmable and gives ambient lighting at night. It is a unique lamp.
